Misys Laboratory® Named ‘Best in KLAS’ for Third Consecutive Year with Healthcare Providers Noting High Quality Interface Services

January 29, 2007 – Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, proved its dominance in the laboratory information systems space as Misys Laboratory® was ranked 2006 “Best in KLAS” for the third consecutive year. KLAS recognizes healthcare vendors for their leadership in providing the latest technology and support for successful implementations across the continuum of care.

Misys Laboratory® manages specimen data from requisition entry through specimen tracking to final cumulative report production, helping technologists improve patient care through integration across clinical disciplines for optimal decision support. KLAS respondents noted the high quality of Misys Laboratory interface services, which provide integration with major instruments and hospital information systems from any enterprise vendor as well as with Misys EMR®.

“Misys Laboratory’s KLAS rank reinforces our commitment to offering customers the latest in laboratory information system technology through investments in product development and service,” said Richard Atkin, president of the Hospital Systems business unit at Misys Healthcare. “This report is extremely valuable as it provides customer feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of Misys Laboratory®, allowing our development team to further enhance the product.

The KLAS ranking follows several significant Misys Laboratory customer implementations. Recently, Misys Laboratory® was purchased by St. Paul’s Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph’s Hospital – two acute care facilities within the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority – which marks the use of Misys Laboratory® in all 14 Health Authority facilities. Additionally, the product was implemented within the Ashtabula County Medical Center, a 241-bed nonprofit hospital located in Northeastern Ohio, along with Misys CoPathPlus™, which is integrated with Misys Laboratory® to improve anatomic pathology reporting.

KLAS Enterprises, an organization dedicated to improving healthcare information technology (HIT) delivery, compiles its year-end “Best in KLAS” awards to technology and service providers based on information in customer satisfaction surveys completed by healthcare professionals throughout the country.  For more information, please visit www.healthcomputing.com
